Year 6 Certificates - 29.01.21

Well done - Congratulations Card (Free) | Greetings Island

29.01.21

These weeks are just flying by. This week the children have worked super hard calculating missing angles within shapes and measuring using protractors. They have also been researching fake news in computing in preparation for writing their very own news article next week. Well done everyone!

Here are this week’s certificate winners:

E for Excellence

Elliott - for his perseverance when he is working independently at home. Although at times Elliott has found this  hard, he is always willing to receive help, even out of his school hours so that he is doing well. Could not be more impressed with how he has taken learning from home seriously and is trying his best to be positive!

Hollie – for your excellent reading work that you submit every single day, without fail!

Star Writer

Bayleigh - for expressing her ideas beautifully during the live lessons, making sure that what she has written so far is effective and then independently writing the rest of her short story with lots of enthusiasm!

Kara – for varying your sentence length in your writing to sustain the reader’s interest.

Presentation

Sophia - for a well overdue congratulations on receiving her pen license!

Kyla – for always presenting your work so clearly that adults can give feedback easily.

Reciprocity

Rayne - for attempting her afternoon catch up maths session even though she was finding it a little overwhelming. Well done Rayne!

George – for using all of the tools around you to help support your learning.

Resourceful

Tristan - For persevering even though he was finding it hard to submit his work. Technology can be tricky!

Alex T – for using the extra maths groups to support your learning -  well done!

Resilience

Harry - for getting involved in his live maths lessons even though he was a little anxious about speaking during the live lessons. Well done Harry!

Rashid – for tackling some tricky angles questions in maths this week, well done!

Reflectiveness

Leo - for showing reflection when he made mistakes in his maths afternoon sessions. He was able to explain where he went wrong and got the next questions correct!

Tommy – for accessing a lot more of the live lessons, it is so great to see you learning along with everyone.

I made my teacher happy

Kiera - Kiera has made me so proud this week. She has been getting involved so much during the live lessons now and has some brilliant ideas to share. Well done you!

Ollie – for showing a lot more focus during the maths live lessons, well done Ollie, this will really help your learning.

Wellbeing Wednesday

Welcome to Wellbeing Wednesday!

After speaking to parents, we know that the children have been working exceptionally hard on Google Classroom and have been trying their best in every lesson.

We also understand how much screen-time the children are getting (as well as the adults) and we think it will be nice to reduce that slightly and have a screen-free afternoon once a week.

We have decided that this will be every Wednesday afternoon and it will give parents and children the opportunity to do something that isn't on a screen!

Below are a few suggestions that you could try:

If you have any questions please email a member of the team on year56@broadford.havering.sch.uk

Year 5 Spellings: 25.01.2021

Please see below the Spellings for Year 5, for the week beginning 25th January.

The weekly test will be on Friday and will be delivered by one of the Year 5 teachers via video on Google Classroom or via a Google Meet.

Children should submit their spelling practise via Google Classroom if possible.
