Votes for Schools

Happy New Year to everyone and welcome back to our first voting topic of 2021!

This week, we’re looking back at an “unprecedented” year and considering whether we were a little too focused on the doom and gloom.

Vote topic

KS1: Did we miss lots of good news in 2020?

KS2: Was good news overlooked in 2020?

Discussion points:

  • What good news stories can you think of from 2020?
  • What was the best thing that happened to you/your family in 2020?
  • Was there too much focus on bad news in 2020?
  • Look up a good news story from 2020 that you hadn’t heard about.
  • Find out more about one of these people and why they were important in 2020: Margaret Keenan; Captain Tom Moore; Marcus Rashford; Kamala Harris, and Gitanjali Rao.
  • Make a prediction about what will happen in 2021!
