What a wonderful term we have had in Year 6! The children have worked so hard and should be so proud of everything they have achieved. Congratulations to these superstar children:
Year 6 had the most magical day yesterday. We're so happy that they were able to have a day full of fun, especially after all the hard work they have done this term.
We started the day off with a tasty treat - the children loved decorating their chocolate biscuits (some of them didn't quite manage to make their way home, as they were so excited to eat them).
We then got competitive with Broadford's first ever Candy Cane Olympics. It was so wonderful to see the children working well together in their teams; demonstrating reciprocity and resilience throughout.
After a small break, we started our Christmas quiz and the children worked hard to answer as many questions correctly as possible, whilst enjoying a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows.
"The teachers in year 6 kept their promise and gave us hot chocolate!" George, Almond
After lunch, it was time for the real fun to begin - it was disco time! We danced, we played games and above all else, we laughed...A LOT!
"This is the best party that I have ever been to!" Peter, Lime
"I had so much fun doing the Conga line!" Ollie H, Almond
It was the perfect way to round off the perfect day.
"This has been the best day ever!" Giada, Lime
"Out of all of my days at Broadford Primary School, today has been my favourite!" Charlie P, Oak
These are just a selection of photos from the day (there were so many). We have uploaded all of the photos on Google Classroom for all parents and carers to see.
Year 6, you have made us all so proud this term. Have a wonderful, restful break because you absolutely deserve it!
Parents and carers, thank you so much for your continued support this term. From all the Year 6 staff, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for attending our Christmas Concert. We are so proud of how the children performed: the readers were loud and clear and the singing was beautiful. We really felt like the Christmas cheer was spread this afternoon!
Congratulations to all the children who have demonstrated each R (reciprocity, resilience, reflectiveness and resourcefulness). The children have worked immensely hard on learning their lines and lyrics to the performance, which has most definitely paid off!
Dear Parents and Carers,
Please find Year 6's spellings below. Please remind your children to practise their spellings every evening, so that they are prepared for their test on Friday.
Boxing Match Debates in Year 5
This week, Year 5 have been writing balanced arguments about a variety of topics. We looked at several examples, found all of the necessary features and then attempted to include them in our own writing!
To develop our understanding of 'point and evidence' we participated in our own boxing match debates. The classes were split into several groups and given a topic (as well as a side) before they went in the 'ring' and debated their side of the argument with the opposition. We saw some fantastic points and evidence for a variety of topics. Well done Year 5!
