Building an Image in Literacy

In Literacy, the Elm students have been reading a variety of poems and have been investigating the ways in which language evokes powerful images. In addition, students have been utilising poetic techniques such as similes, alliteration, personification, interesting synonyms, and colourful adjectives in their writing.  Below is a line from the poem called "Last Night, I Saw The City Breathing" in which students used their poetic knowledge to up level it.
