Year 5 Forest - Session 3

Forest School - Session 3

Despite the rain, we continued this week with session 3 of Forest School. Forest School will always continue whatever the weather. As Alfred Wainwright would say,

“There’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing!”

Today's session focussed on making trees spirits from clay and other natural materials. Legend says that tree spirits protect the flora and fauna in the environment surrounding them. After listening to the story, 'The Selfish King and the Compassion of the Tree Spirit', the children created some wonderful designs. Some children even named their character.

A scavenger hunt and reflection time whilst enjoying a drink and a biscuit completed today's session.

Just a reminder to ensure children are wearing weather appropriate clothing on a Thursday. Coats, hats and gloves are a must!
