Welcome Back Year 5!

The Year 5 team are super excited to be welcoming the children back to school on Monday, after so long apart!

There are a few things we wanted to make you aware of:

Timings:

Start of day: 8:40am - children can go straight to their classrooms to start their early morning activity.

End of day: 3:15pm - please make sure all parents are standing on their child's coloured spot to collect their child (as before).

Redwood - Red

Willow - Blue

We do encourage you to wear masks on the playground, if you are able to, and to socially distance as much as possible to keep everyone safe.

On Wednesdays, we are continuing with Wellbeing Wednesday, so there is an earlier collection time of 1:05pm after the children have had their lunch.

This will ensure that we can do a deep clean of the school and will allow teachers to have their statutory planning time, that won't be disruptive for the children's learning.

If you are a working parent we are offering a place at school for that afternoon, where your child will complete wellbeing activities with support staff.

PE

Our PE day has moved to Friday. This will be from the first week back (Friday 12th March), so please send the children into school in their PE kits, as before.

Equipment/ Books

All routines will remain the same as before. To avoid additional risk, please do not send the children in with any of their own equipment/ stationery. The children will be provided with everything they need at school. All children will receive new reading books on the first day back, along with their spellings. Please make sure the children bring in their reading records and spellings books on the first day back, if they are not already in school. If children have misplaced these items, please ask them to let us know and we can provide them with new ones to have for the rest of the year.

Borrowed Devices

All devices will now need to be returned to school, so that children can use them in school. To ensure this is done in a safe, controlled manner and enable all the necessary paperwork to be completed, please bring the loaned device (and charger/case) back to the school office  on Wednesday 10th March.

Please do not send the device in with your child as the paperwork must be signed by the adult to ensure liability is transferred back to the school.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions at all about the changes using our shared inbox: year56@broadford.havering.sch.uk
