Year 5 Rock Painting Joys

 Year 5 Rock Painting Joys

As part of our ethos at Broadford Primary school , we value the moments where all children are able to share an experience together. One of the Year 5 experiences is to paint a rock and that they did this week. The sun was of great help as the children designed and layered their vibrant acrylic paints on to a rock.

With inspiration from nature and things that the children find beautiful in their eyes, they were able to to turn a plain stone into an eye-catching piece of art.

Birch class focused on creating painted rocks to inspire others and chose to write positive messages for others to read when looking at the pebbles. We loved creating our positive pebble and tried our best to make as little mess as we could with all the paint.

'I wrote bee kind with a picture of a bee as a joke because they will be used outdoor by the pond' - Athena, Birch.

Redwood class enjoyed creating different effects with their pebbles. Some did ombre effects whilst others stuck to the concept of positive affirmations.
