Dementia Friends

Year 5 & 6 were very lucky to have a special visitor today. The children took part in a very informative afternoon run by Claire Cornish from the Dementia Society. Dementia is a condition that affects many people in our older community and year 5 and 6 learned all about how it can affect the sufferer.
They found out how memory can be affected by someone with Dementia and how they could possible help someone that they know with Dementia.

Singing for the brain, approaches to conversation and Dementia Friends were just some of the ways that Year 5 and 6 have found out about how to help.

A big thanks to Claire for her input this afternoon.
