Maple plant scientists - Part 2

Following on from our science lessons, we went on a trip to Kew Gardens where the children had the fantastic opportunity to be plant scientists once again!

They looked at lots of plants and discovered their scientific and common names. Sami was the seed as the children used drama to show what a seed needs to grow. They then used the knowledge they had from their science lessons to piece together the parts of a plant. They also looked at a wide range of seeds and the shoots of beans and then dissected a flower and looked at the parts under a microscope! And this was all before lunch!

To finish off the day, the children walked high amongst the tree tops on the Treetop Walkway.

What a fantastic day!
