Sam's Origami Creation

At Broadford we are always encouraging our children to build their learning power by becoming resilient, resourceful, reflective and exercise reciprocity. We also encourage our children to become independent learners at home.
Sam Murcia of Palm class has done just that. In his own time at home Sam has been pursuing his interest in Origami - the ancient Japanese art of paper folding. Sam has been bringing his many creations into school to show his friends. Today, Sam brought in his latest piece...a beautiful tulip!
The handiwork took Sam an astonishing THREE hours to make through absorbtion in painstaking small folds and bends. Sam has most definitely shown us that he can be resilient enough to keep going, even when the task at hand was tough. "One of the steps was quite tricky, but I used a fold that I learned in another item I made in order to get to the next step." Brilliant perseverance, Sam! We can't wait to see more of your creations!
