Year 5- Discrimination Discussion

This week in our Topic lessons, we have been discussing Discrimination and Stereotypes.


At first we used our dictionary skills to look up the meanings of the words:
Discriminate: To treat people unfairly because of their race, age, gender or religion.
Prejudice: An unfavourable opinion or dislike formed without facts
Stereotype: a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.
Both Maple and Elm used their reciprocity skills during this unit of work; listening to each other, respecting each other's opinions and sharing ideas. Keep up the great work Elm and Maple class :)
