Year 5-Brandina day

Yesterday Year 5 participated in Brandina day. This involved dressing in black, yellow or red in support of Brandina, an orphan living in Uganda. The generous donations contribute towards her education and living costs and seek to improve her life chances.

In the afternoon the children had great time participating in Ugandan dancing. They demonstrated reciprocity and resilience in supporting their peers and the day ended with a dance-off!

In summary, the children showed empathy and understanding in how other peoples live may differ from our own and greatly enjoyed the insight into another culture.
