Year 5 are hosting a series of reading mornings to support parents/carers engage in shared, responsive reading with their children. Responsive reading involves asking appropriate questions, encouraging discussion and exploring the text with your child.
There are a range of benefits from responsive, shared reading including; increased vocabulary knowledge, a greater understanding of the plot and increased ability to share opinions and ideas.
These sessions will run from 8.30-9.00am, in the hall on the following days:
- Thursday 4th April
- Monday 8th April
- Tuesday 9th April
- Thursday 11th April
These sessions are not mandatory and you do not need to attend every session.
Children will be required to bring their own reading books.
It would be great to see as many parents there as possible!
