Year Six - Thursday Morning Drop Off
This post is for the attention of parents and carers whose children we have confirmed are starting on Thursday 11th June at 9:00am.
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are looking forward to welcoming back some of our Year 6 children on Thursday. The new drop off and pick up routine is explained below.
The gates will be opened at 9:00am. Children who arrive after 9:10am will not be able to come into school and will return the following day or week. If your child is coming into school by themselves, please make sure they arrive on time at 9:00am to avoid bring turned away.
Where possible, please encourage your child to walk to school and avoid getting on public transport.
Morning drop off
We will not be using our usual gates to enter the school. Everyone will enter through the large gate on Farringdon Avenue (near the new building). Please observe social distancing whilst queuing to enter. Only one adult can accompany a child into the school playground.
You will then head to the playground and stand on the colour dot for your bubble.
If your child is coming to school by themselves, please show them the video below and explain to them what they need to do.
Please remember, the gates open at 9:00am and close at 9:10am. If you are later than this time, you will not be able to come to school. You will return to school the following day or week.
Pick up
When picking up your child, you will do exactly the same thing. You will enter through the gate, walk down to the playground and wait on the same colour spot as you did in the morning. At 3pm, the teachers will walk the children out. When we can see their adult standing on the spot, we will send the children over, one at a time.
If your child is going to walk home by themselves, the teacher will dismiss them at 3:00pm.
Here is a video showing images of the gate and spots.
The children will only be allowed to bring a packed lunch in a disposable bag and water bottle into school with them. Any other items (such as phones, hand sanitiser and bags) are not allowed. Please do not let your child bring their phone to school with them.
We look forward to seeing lots of smiling faces on Thursday morning.
Kind regards,
The Year Six Team
