Science Week in Year 6

To celebrate Science Week we took part in various activities to develop our understanding of change and adaptation.

We discussed ways of how the World around us changes to include:   the environment, the oceans,

Earth and the solar system, as well as how we adapt in our own personal lives. The activities we took part in were:

  • We thought of a playground game and how we could adapt it to make it accessible to all children.

  • We participated in ocean-themed Yoga positions whilst discussing how sea creatures adapt to their environment.

  • We completed an experiment to consider which items can be flushed away and those that can’t!

'This Science Week was really fun.  I enjoyed doing interesting and mind-blowing experiments' - Meerab, Redwood
'It was extremely fun learning to make games for people with disabilities.' - Ryan, Larch

“I learnt that if you put the green paper towel or wipes down the toilet, it will clog but if you use toilet roll it won’.” Ruta , Birch
