Living Things and Their Habitats
Nature Detectives
This week, the children became nature detectives, exploring the school grounds to find and sort living and non-living things. They learned that living things:
-
Move – plants bend toward the light, and roots grow down into the soil.
-
Reproduce – plants can grow from seeds or even from little shoots.
-
Grow and change – just like children do!
-
Excrete waste – all living things get rid of what they don’t need.
while non-living things do not. The children loved learning that even plants are alive and busy moving and growing, even if we can’t always see it happening!
