Year 6 have been leading a whole-school Food Drive in support of the Harold Hill Foodbank. We asked for non-perishable food donations such as tins, pasta, rice, cereals, and long-life milk, and the response from our school community has been incredibly generous.
To raise awareness, Year 6 also designed posters to encourage everyone to take part. The winning posters were chosen to accompany the food donations on their journey to the foodbank.
Today, these Year 6 pupils visited the Harold Hill Foodbank to deliver all of the donations. They helped carry the bags and push our very large trolley, which was filled with the kind contributions from families across the school.
At the foodbank, pupils learned how the donations are sorted and distributed to support local families in need. They heard about the important role the foodbank plays in the community and saw first-hand how our school’s efforts will make a real difference.
We are very proud of our Year 6 pupils for leading this initiative and grateful to everyone who contributed to such a worthwhile cause.
