Year 6 - Wild Passport Day!

🌿 Wild Passport Day: Shelter Builders!

During Wild Passport Day, learners explored how animals and humans create shelters for protection and comfort. Through a series of hands-on outdoor challenges, they:

  • Built bird’s nests using natural materials and tweezers to mimic a bird’s beak.

  • Constructed mini animal or gnome shelters designed to keep them warm, dry, and safe.

  • Created different types of shelters — from dens to ridge line and storm shelters — using ropes, tarps, and natural resources.

On completion of the Wild Passport activities, the children had the opportunity to practise their orienteering skills.

The children had a fantastic time!

I am sorry I didn't get many pics, they were running around all over the playground! I promise to take loads on our next Wild Passport Day! Here are some quotes:

Zayd - I really enjoyed orienteering, me and my partner used to map to identify the next two places and then split up so we could complete it in the shortest amount of time!

Ayaan - We looked at three different shelters and made gnome homes.

Fariha  - I loved looking at the different shelters and playing Zombie tag!
