Outdoor Decimal Fun

Miss Reynolds' maths group had lots of fun converting fractions to decimals today. In the classroom they were carefully folding number lines to show how many pieces each fraction showed then relating this to a decimal number. The children then took their challenge outside and had to decide whether the fraction on their boards was greater than, smaller than or equal to the decimal fraction in the middle of three large circles. So successful were the children at this task that Miss Reynolds then challenged them to line up and decide which fraction was greatest out of their peers' line up and use the symbols < and > to show their findings! Such great work from everyone today! Well done!
