'I'm a pupil get me out of here' graduation!
After 10 weeks of hard work, resilience, leadership and team work the 'I'm a pupil' children have graduated.
They have experienced a variety of different activities and needed to use their resourcefulness, reciprocity, reflectiveness and resilience skills to succeed. Some of our favourite tasks were: building tents, blind-folded obstacle courses, balancing on crates and camp fires.
It has been an absolute pleasure to work with every child in the 'I'm a pupil' group. They have shown they are all incredibly kind and have fantastic leadership and team work qualities.
Well done and congratulations to every child who graduated!

Year 5- Fractions, Decimals and Percentages!
Over the half term, Year 5 have been looking at fractions and decimal equivalence. They have all used their resilience skills to become decimal experts.
Yesterday they showed that they really are maths masters when they all were introduced to percentages. The Year 5 staff were absolutely blown away with their maths knowledge and they all completed not one, not two, but THREE worksheets in partners comparing decimals, fractions and percentages.
Miss Daly had even put some sneaky questions when the denominator wasn't 100 to try and catch the pupils out but they all applied their fractions knowledge and managed to answer ALL of the questions confidently and accurately.
What a great way to end the half term!
Well done Year 5, keep up the amazing maths work!

Year 5-Brandina day
Yesterday Year 5 participated in Brandina day. This involved dressing in black, yellow or red in support of Brandina, an orphan living in Uganda. The generous donations contribute towards her education and living costs and seek to improve her life chances.
In the afternoon the children had great time participating in Ugandan dancing. They demonstrated reciprocity and resilience in supporting their peers and the day ended with a dance-off!
In summary, the children showed empathy and understanding in how other peoples live may differ from our own and greatly enjoyed the insight into another culture.

Year 5- Easter
Dear Maple and Elm class
It has been ANOTHER amazing term!
We feel like this term has flown by and it is already Easter!
We just wanted to say thank you to all of the parents and pupils again for your continued support. It has been fantastic term and all of the children have made brilliant progress since Christmas.
A few of our highlights this term have been: visiting the British museum, making scientific exploding rockets, writing ogre adventure stories and the University of Broadford graduations!
It was also a great opportunity to see so many of you at parent’s evening this week.
We hope you all have a wonderful Easter break!
Stay safe please!
Kind regards,
Miss Daly, Miss Breen, Miss Mullan, Mrs Johnston, Mrs Clements and Mrs Pike

Year 5 Mass Litter March - 09/04/19
What a fantastic yesterday! Some super Year 5 children and their parents helped us clean up our streets in Harold Hill! They were so quick and handy and the children were very competitive as to who would have the biggest bag!
A huge thank you to all those involved in the litter pick up yesterday. It was really inspirational to see everyone getting together to make Harold Hill a cleaner place.
Thank you.
Miss Higgins
