Year 6 SATs Parents’ Meeting
Dear Parents/Carers,
Year 6 staff will be hosting a parent meeting on Thursday 23rd January at 3:15pm to talk about the National Curriculum Assessments (sometimes called SATs) which your child will be taking in May.
The results of these assessments are very important for Year 6 pupils as they are a measure of progress from Year 2 to Year 6. They are also used by secondary schools as an indicator of a pupil’s ability and of which class they will join in Year 7.
We will be providing a range of information: -
- When and how long each paper is
- What each paper involves
- Tips on how you can support your child in the lead up to and during the assessments
- Examples of assessment papers and tips on how you can help your child revise
- How the school will support the children
We are sure you understand how important it is for us to work together to support our Year 6 pupils to help them to achieve their best in these assessments and beyond.
Please join us on Thursday 23rd January at 3:15pm in the school hall. Your child is welcome to attend.
Kind regards,
Miss Nicholas Miss Higgins
