This term in DT we have been deepening our understanding of our history unit by designing and building Anderson shelters. The children have researched structures and the language used to make them fit for purpose. The children understood how and why we reinforce structures, different joins and checking our finished product against the design brief.
Oak class were the first to create their 'gardens' and are ready to put their finished shelter in it. These photos are of the children working reciprocally with their groups. At times a large dose of resilience was needed when placing the stones and gravel. Next week we will finish the gardens and take pictures again.
