Year 5 Science Trip to Royal Liberty

Our Year 5 children were invited to visit The Royal Liberty secondary school today for their annual Science week. The children traveled by coach to the Romford-based school, and were met by friendly and helpful students.
During their visit, they saw Phil from Jaws and Claws. He showed them a range of weird and wonderful creatures including Henrietta the Tortoise, a Hissing Cockroach named George and an absolutely huge Cane Frog (who took a liking to Tommy and Louis' heads) named Buster.
The children were also given a chemistry challenge. They had to try to find out the different ways that chemicals showed that they had made something new when mixed with other substances. Multi-coloured powders, emitted heat and complete colour changes were observed by the children that were left in awe!
"This was epic!" an excited Junior was heard declaring on the way back to school.
