Writing poetry in Redwood

This morning, the pupils in Redwood are beginning to write their poems based on a sea creature. The children selected their own creature and setting meaning that the finished pieces will be completely unique and personal. We then brainstormed ideas to use I thin our poems focusing first on appearance.

I chose a whale as my inspiration because I would like to write a peaceful poem and I think whales are calm creatures.

My poem is going to have a calm tone to it. I'm planning to use repetition and rhythm to achieve this. I'm also going to leave my ending ambiguous!
