The straw challenge!

Yesterday afternoon, Willow class were set the challenge of building, well... absolutely anything! However, they had to make it from a bundle of straws. No scissors, glue or sellotape was allowed. The children has to use their own imagination and draw upon their creative capacities to develop a masterpiece.

To begin, the children experimented, trailing their ideas with the straws.
"We wanted to make Big Ben or the Eiffel Tower at first, then changed our minds and decided to go with the theme of dungeons" Cruz.

One group- Haliya, Sonia, Gavin, Brooke, Ronnie and Leo - sat there to begin with, making their own individual designs and completely lost. However, after a striking idea, they drew upon their reciprocity, resilience and resourcefulness to construct an outstanding woven basket.

Great team work today Willow class, I hope to see more of this in the future :)
