Table Tennis at Drapers' Academy

For the past few weeks, a group of pupils from Year 3,4,5 and 6 have been visiting Drapers' Academy in order to become table tennis mentors. We have been learning a wide range of skills and games with Mr Stallard, one of the PE teachers at Drapers', and will be bringing this expertise back to Broadford in order to help pupils at our school enjoy table tennis.

We have learnt the rules of table tennis so that all the pupils at Broadford can all play correctly. Some of the rules are:
- the serve has to bounce on both sides of the table;
- players must not lean against the table;
- players should not put their hands on the table. If they do then they lose the point;
- if you hit the ball in to the net or off of the table then you lose the point.

Mr Stallard taught us how to play lots of different shots and how to work as a team when we are playing doubles. We had a lot of fun at Drapers' and we are excited to bring our new table tennis skills back to Broadford and help children out our school to learn about this fantastic sport.
