Year 5 - Remembrance Day

Today, in honour of upcoming Remembrance Sunday and the centenary of the First World War, Year 5 pupils produced decorative poppies.

The children put facts about WW1 on the back of their poppies and these will be used as part of a school display.

We also watched several videos discussing the importance of remembering and reflecting upon WW1 in which so many men and women gave their lives.

In the coming days Year 5 will carry out an in-depth study regarding the senses; what might someone see, feel, hear, smell and taste during the first two-minute held in 1919 for Remembrance Sunday.
