Elm class is visited by a Viking expert!

In our history class, the Elm students have been learning about the Vikings. Students have been learning about where the vikings came from; how they travelled (by focusing on the significance of the longship); and why they invaded Great Britain. Yesterday, we were so fortunate to have a Viking visitor come to our school to talk about the life of a Viking. Students even got to role play! Interesting information learned was that: female slaves worked on farms, people could be sold, the oldest son was given his fathers name with the word son right after it (example: John Son), and the future could be told by using special coins!!!
