Last week in Design and Technology in Maple we designed our Viking longships. The children had to think about which materials would be best to use for base of their ships to ensure they didn't sink!
There were some fantastic learning behaviours on display:
Reciprocity: teams discussed ideas before deciding on their prototype design and then worked together to create it
Resourcefulness: children made links with what they had learned about the Vikings in History and used their reasoning skills to decide on which materials to use., as well as using their imaginations to turn basic materials into fabulous designs!
