Willow Class Star Writer

This week in Willow, our star writer is the very lovely Lilly Reynolds. It is no surprise given the incredibly gripping diary entry that she has so far produced. Lilly successfully embedded a range of sentence lengths into her writing in order to create suspense and have her reader on the edge of their seat, dying to know whether Goji would be restored to her former purring self or be left in a state of stillness.

Lilly also used effective rhetorical questions to not only capitalise on her use of suspense, but to also allow her reader to understand Billy's frustration with himself and feel as if they are truly in his conscience.

To fully immerse her audience in her diary entry, Lilly has carefully selected powerful adjectives, verbs and show not tells, which have helped to build vivid descriptions. I particularly loved Lilly's use of alternative nouns for Goji, which showed the comparison between living Goji and golden Goji. In addition, it has allowed Lilly to vary her vocabulary, rather than boring her readers with limited language.

Keep up the great writing Lilly, I can not wait to read the finished product.
