Year 6 Science - 24.11.21

Yesterday, year 6 looked at Darwin’s theory of evolution. They used different utensils to act as the different breeds of finch that inhabited the Galapagos Islands. They had to use their beaks (utensils) to see how much food they could collect to see which finch would survive with the understanding of survival of the fittest.

"So because my beak can't collect enough food, my breed of finch would die?" - Giada, Lime

"Their beaks changed over time so that they were able to survive longer, that's evolution" - Kaley, Oak

"Wow, birds have to work so hard just to get food to survive" - Molly May, Almond

Year 6 Certificates - 19.11.21

What another brilliant week we have had in Year 6! We all had an amazing time on the cinema trip this week and all adults are so super proud of how the children behaved - they represented Broadford brilliantly. Special shout out to all the parent helpers in year 6 too, thank you for all of your support on this day.

E for Excellence

These children have put in 110% effort this week and really showed us how in the green zone they were with their learning. Thank you for your incredible hard work.

Congratulations to: D'Shawn, Nancy, Katlyn

Star Writer
These children have worked hard to plan a piece of writing from an alternative perspective this week based on our story of Robin Hood. Their main focus was to include 'show, not tell' sentences.

We want to recognise the students who really exemplified the 4Rs this week, both in and out of class.
