Mersea medical - URGENT

As we are rapidly approaching the residential trip, there are a few essential details  that we require. Please complete the medical form here as a matter of urgency.

We need any information linked to a condition or allergy as this needs to be shared as a safety precaution. All GDPR regulations will be adhered to. Any medication that needs to be taken, especially if it is usually administered at home, has to be documented. This also covers seasonal asthma, hayfever medication and medical creams. Please note any food or medication allergies need to be evidenced.

As discussed previously, any medications are to be placed in a named pouch which will be kept and administered by the group leader.

Thank you

Year 5 experiences

This term as one of our experiences, we are looking to support an animal shelter. The Romford greyhound association is a local charity that takes care of greyhounds when they no longer race and rehomes them into loving homes. I have spoken to them to ask what we can do to support them with regards to bedding and food. If the children can bring in dog food (tinned or biscuits), newspapers for bedding or animal toys, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure we can rally around and make a difference to the charity. One of the charity workers will be happy to come into school to collect the donations. Please can we all try to support this as every small donation will make a difference and become part of a large donation.

Imperial War museum

We have now been able to rebook the Imperial War museum trip for year 5. Birch and Redwood will be going on Wednesday 6th May and Larch the 8th May. the permission slips and lunches will stay the same so please don.'t worry about signing permissions.

On the day of the trip, children need to arrive in the morning at normal school time (8.30am) and we will be leaving promptly at 9.00am and returning to school at approximately 3pm. If we are due to arrive back to school early or late, a message will be shared on the school's Facebook page.

Children should wear normal school uniform and comfortable shoes and will need to bring with them/ wear on the day the following:

  • A waterproof coat.

  • Packed lunch in a named, plastic (disposable) bag.

  • A hat and suncream (if we are fortunate enough to have hot weather).

Many thanks for your continued support,

Year 5 Imperial War museum trip

On Tuesday 21st April, year 5 were to visit the Imperial War Museum in London. Unfortunately there is a tube strike meaning we would get here but not be able to return. We will therefore have to postpone the trip for a later date. We will send further confirmation on Monday through ParentPay and hopefully will be able to rebook this trip. We are of course incredibly disappointed to do this but for the safety of the children we have no other choice. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
