World Book Day in Year 6 !

Today the children celebrated World Book Day by completing many different activities, which included, wordsearches, design a book mark, book reviews and creating their very own book token.

The children were also very lucky to have an assesmbly with Miss Jennings,  where they heard the story 'We're going on a Bear Hunt !' All the children joined in with the story and actions.

In the afternoon, each class went outside for a scavenger hunt, where they had to find clues to complete the missing words. All children showed great resilience and receprocity while completing the activity.

Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes and had a great day celebrating reading.

Year 6 World Book Day

This morning in Year 6, Mr Light and Miss Chau were surprised to see a host of famous book characters instead of their usual pupils. We had two Cats in the Hat; the helpful Hermione Granger;  Greg from Diary of a Wimpy Kid; the fierce Shere Khan from the Jungle Book; a very hungry Oliver Twist; a very grumpy Mr Stink; the Joker from the Batman comics; Sophie from the BFG; Macbeth's Hamlet; the evil Sauron from Lord of the Rings; two very sparkly unicorns; Frankenstein; Alice in Wonderland and many others!

I chose to dress up as Sauron because Lord of the Rings is a great story and Sauron is so evil.

What a fantastic effort Year 6- well done!
