Year 6 Royal Courts of Justice

Year 6 were visited yesterday by Evie- a representative from the Royal Courts of Justice- who came to tell them about an exciting new project.

The project, which will include all children, involves learning about the different types of court, varying professional positions involved within a court, and the types of punishment that a defendant can expect to be given under British Law if they are convicted of a crime.

"I found the talk really interesting," stated Vinnie Brand, "I didn't know that throwing anything, even something as harmless as an egg, at someone's house is considered an offence that a person over the age of ten could be punished for."

The project will run for the remainder of the half term, culminating in Year 6 visiting the Royal Courts of Justice and staging their own trial with a real judge on 14th December 2015.
