Year 5 were very fortunate to have a robotics workshop on Tuesday, where they got the opportunity to build, code and debug their own robots.
First, the children had to work in pairs to locate the parts for the robots and then follow instructions on an IPad in order to build the robot.
Once they had built their robot and fixed all the different components together correctly, they then had the opportunity to customise their robot , which resulted in some very interesting looking robots!
Finally, the children had to create an algorithm for their robot to move it along the tracks to the final destination, this including using their computer knowledge to code and debug their robots.
It was tricky to build the robot but I really enjoyed learning how to put the different parts together - Leah
It was really challenging to build the robots but it was really fun to code the robots and see if we could program them correctly to reach the middle - Harry
