Incredible Illustration in Year 5
In Art this week, the Year 5 children have been creating illustrated letters, focusing on improving their drawing and composition skills.
Following guidance from Isobel Grant, a professional illustrator, the children first had to choose their favourite animal and draw it in the shape of the letter its name begins with - for example, drawing a cat in the shape of a letter C.
The children had to make sure that their animals were recognisable whilst also adapting them into the relevant letter shape. There were some fantastically creative illustrations submitted to our Padlet, including this selection below:
For the second part of their lesson, the children had to create illustrated letters for their own name, to reflect their likes and personality. It was great to see their creativity in full flow, along with their fantastic reciprocity commenting on each others work.
We look forward to seeing more of your fantastic imaginations and creative skills in the coming weeks!
