Year 5 Stepping Up Trip

 Year 5 Stepping Up Trip

Yesterday, a group of Year 5 pupils completed their final Stepping Up trip and graduated from the course! We began in the hall and worked on our skills before heading to The Manor. The children were put into teams, given a variety of resources and were instructed to create a shelter, which would mean that they could survive in the forest overnight.

The children worked wonderfully in their teams, demonstrating excellent reciprocity, and built fantastic shelters that even had entertainment features! We had lunch in the forest before returning back to school where we were lucky enough to be able to build a fire, where we toasted marshmallows and hotdogs.

We are so proud of this group and the resilience they have displayed when faced with challenges. We hope that they will continue to use all the valuable skills they have learnt on the course throughout their time at Broadford and beyond.
