Barnardo's Biography
This week Year 5 have been very resourceful finding out lots of facts about Dr Banardo.
We began by using our retrieval skills to identify the key information from a text. Then we looked at how to arrange the information in chronological order.
We reflected on what we had learned in history about the Victorians and could clearly explain the differences between the rich and poor in London at that time.
I think we can all agree that we were really impressed with all of his achievements and his caring nature towards others.
"I found it really surprising that he was so selfish when he was younger." Hamza, Maple
“I think the most important event in Dr Barnardo’s life was when he opened his first orphanage because it gave homeless children a place to stay.’ Anna, Willow
"Wow so Jim Jarvis changed his life and he's in her guided reading book." - Maisie , Redwood
