Year 5 goes litter picking in the community!
This week in year 5, we got to go out and help the local community by litter picking. We were astonished by how much litter was dropped (including what we saw on the floor). We walked the local paths and even went to some of the communal parks and open areas. We had to use our resilience; for carrying on and being determined to do a good job. We had to use our resourcefulness; by using what we had available to help do a good job. We also used our reciprocity; this was done by working in groups and seeing who collected the most rubbish.
“It’s so sad how much litter people leave around Harold Hill but I’m glad we’ve collected some of it!” Logan, Lime
"I hated seeing how much rubbish there was on the floor, It was even worse when it was back on the floor after we cleaned it and walked back!" George & Shaylee, Oak.
“I can’t believe how many bags we have filled. I am so pleased we have helped today.” Faramade, Almond
