Year 5 Trip to The Imperial War Museum

The train strikes could not stop us this week from finally visiting the Imperial War Museum.

This trip truly cemented our learning journey this half term as we have been learning in about World War 2 in History with the curriculum link in Literacy.

'Look the poster has the name of the book chapter - Mothers: Send them out of London' - Stiven, Birch

The children were very excited when we arrived. We initially had a talk about various artefacts from WW2 which the children were able to handle and one of our children became the ARP (air raid patrol)!
Some children reclined in a Morrison shelter, whilst others preferred the comfort of the Anderson shelter.

As always we had a great day and they were a credit to our school. Well done year 5
