Outdoor Maths Lesson

Yesterday, Miss Howson's maths class went outside to piece together our knowledge of decimals, fractions and percentages.

We were each divided into groups and told to look for a particular colour card. We then raced out of the doors eager to find our cards- which were scattered all over the field. Each card had a fraction, decimal or percentage on it. Our task was to work out which fraction, decimal and percentage belonged together. Miss Howson tricked us and included some extra 0's in our decimal or created a fraction such as 30/200 to confuse us. But we soon realized what she had done!

As it was a little windy outside, we came inside to make sure our fractions, decimals and percentages were all equivalent to each other. Well done to the blue group who won a merit for working as a group fantastically and organising their cards into the correct order first!

Special thanks to Callum and Jessica for hiding all the cards at break time.
