Elm Class: Math Challenge

Last Friday, the Elm class had a very fun and challenging math class. Students worked in groups to communicate their mathematical thinking, shared ideas to solve the challenges and even worked against the clock!

The first math challenge was the "24 Challenge" in which students figured out how many ways the number 24 can be created. A lot of excellent calculations took place during this activity. The next challenge was solving tangram puzzles while the next challenge was working with pentominoes.
