During the week beginning 23rd May, pupils will be taking part in lots of exciting activities to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee!
Year 5 will be focusing on one decade of the Queen's reign - the 1960s - and explore some areas of life in that given decade.
We will be:
- creating some Andy Warhol inspired pop art pieces based on the Queen
- taking a trip to the park with Mead Primary School to play some 1960's inspired games.
- designing and using a 'blow football' game to celebrate the iconic 1966 World Cup win.
- learning and performing 'Loco-motion - Little Eva'
There will be a red, white and blue dress up day on Thursday 26th May along with a special Jubilee menu for all pupils.
On Friday 27th May, all pupils are invited to a Party in the Playground. There will be music, food and games.
Children will also take part in a Platinum Jubilee Reading Challenge and will have reading trackers to complete by Tuesday 7th June
We can't wait to celebrate the Jubilee with the children next week!
