Year 5 - Moving to Secondary School

Please see below a letter for parents of children in Year 5, about transitioning from primary to secondary school.

Dear Parent/Carer of Year 5,

 

I hope that you are well. 

 

At this time of year at Hornchurch High, we usually have several year 5 days and a transition programme, in order to acclimate your child into secondary school. This is very important and gives your child a taste of secondary school and enables them to get a good feel of a school, before making a decision on where to go. 

 

We are continuing with our transition programme here at Hornchurch High School.  Over the next few weeks, you will receive a tour, a quiz, some welcome videos from students and a Q&A with senior staff.

 

Today, I have gathered a group of my transition leadership team students on TEAMS. They all wanted to write letters to your children to encourage, comfort and enthuse!
