As part of our volunteering project this year, related to King Charles' 'Big Help Out', the Year 6 Team got in contact with Lennox Children's Cancer Fund, a charity close to Broadford's heart with one of our previous pupil's Sophia Houlston being diganosed with cancer in 2020. The charity really supported Sophia's family and we wanted to give back!
LCCF came in and did an assembly with our KS2 children, where the children learnt how to support others with cancer and through a toothpaste challenge learnt that unkind words cannot be unsaid.
Then it was Year 6's time to get stuck in with helping out! They were packing backpacks for children with cancer at Great Ormond Street Hospital, Royal Marsden and UCLH.
The backpacks were filled with lots of treats such as colouring books, sweets, wireless hedphones and games.
The children were so fantastic in helping and packing the case really neatly and logically so everything fit. They worked together as a team to gather the items and pack them.
