Year 5 Visit Hornchurch Country Park

Year 5 Visit Hornchurch Country Park

Yesterday, Year 5 went on their school trip to Hornchurch Country Park. We are currently learning about World War 2 and this park played a vital role in defence during the war. Luckily for us, there are still  multiple pillboxes, turrets and other structures remaining from the war. We were able to immerse ourselves in the history of our local area and were reflecting on what life would have been like for those who lived during that period of time.

We are so excited to continue learning about World War Two throughout the rest of this term!

"As we're talking about it, I can just imagine all the action taking place during World War Two." - Aida, Lime

"I can't believe there was so much history so near to us! the turrets and pill boxes were a little creepy though." - Francesca, Oak

'The information boards were really helpful in showing us what it would have looked like during the war.'- Faramade, Almond
