Soluble Science in Year 5
This week (in our Science lesson), Year 5 have been looking at how the temperature of water impacts the speed at which something dissolves. We had four containers full of water, that was at different temperatures, and we timed how long it took a spoonful or sugar to dissolve.
The children showed excellent reciprocity while conducting the experiment and reflected on their results to come to the conclusion that the higher the temperature of the water, the fastest the solid dissolved in the liquid.
'I enjoyed the excitement and the tension and how everyone had their own opinion on which one was going to dissolve first and be the fastest.' Max, Lime
'It was interesting watching the sugar dissolve at different speeds.' Asher, Oak
