Year 6 - Stay & Learn 14.10.21

                             

We are very excited to be holding our first "Stay and Learn" session in Year 6 on Thursday 14th October. We would love to invite parents to join us in the new hall to share our learning. On this occasion, we will be focusing on reading and there will be the opportunity for you to work with the children on the kinds of activities we would do in class.

The timings are as follows:

Almond class: 9:15 - 9:45

Lime class: 10:00 - 10:30

Oak class: 10:45 - 11:15

We can't wait to see as many parents/ carers join us as possible.

If you are unable to make the morning, we'll make sure that there is a blog post to share everything that was covered.

Year 5's Trip to Painesbrook

 

Year 5's Trip to Painesbrook

This afternoon, Year 5 went on a local trip to see a brook! Our trip was linked to our current Geography topic 'Rivers'. We observed the brook in several different places and discussed various features.

After looking at the brook for a while we had lots of fun in Central Park together. 

Well done to Year 5 who were very well behaved on our first year group trip of the year!

Weaving away in year 6

 

Today, year 6 applied their understanding of an ancient Mayan craft. They had to discuss the many different Mayan trades and conclude which ones made the Mayans more money. They had to carefully use their fine motor skills to prepare the weaving board before undertaking the skill itself.

Year 6 Certificates - 01.10.21

                                         

What a week it has been for year 6. The children continue to work hard to achieve their targets. This week we have been looking at reflection in Science and even attempted making our own periscopes. We also learned about the Ancient Mayan ball game called Pok-ta-Pok, the children we able to compre it to our modern day ball games to see how Britain has been impacted by different periods of history.

E for Excellence

These children have put in 110% effort this week and really showed us how in the green zone they were with their learning. Thank you for your incredible hard-work.
