Royal Courts of Justice - Theatre of Law

Palm were excited to be visiting the Royal Courts of Justice today. Firstly we were met by Evie, who is the Learning Manager at the NCCL, we were then taken to courtroom 25. We discussed the different types of courts and trials which take place at the Royal Courts of Justice.

In our Literacy lessons we wrote our own Crown Court Mock Trial based on a robbery case. The children had the most amazing experience of acting out their case In a real life courtroom inside the Royal Courts of Justice.

Afterwards we met a guest speaker Alison who told us about her job and responsibilities as a Judges Clerk. We were shown ceremonial robes and a replica gold chain which Judges wear on the first day of the Law year, 1st October.

Lastly we visited the Costume Exhibiton of the Royal Courts of Justice.
