Year 6 - Coconut - Art/DT

The children looked at many different Tudor houses and the features they have such as beams and the shape of the windows and doors. They then went on to make their own 3D Tudor houses. They used a net of the 3D shapes needed for the main body of their house such as a cube or a cuboid and repeated the process for their roof, choosing either a rectangular prism or a square based pyramid. The children had a variety of art resources available to choose from to add the features, thinking about the effects they could create for the roof tiles or the shutters for example. They worked well as a class and showed reciprocity and resilience.
